FeNi36, also known as Invar 36, is a nickel-iron alloy with an extremely low coefficient of thermal expansion, making it ideal for applications that require dimensional stability across a wide temperature range. The alloy’s thermal expansion properties can be further adjusted through cold working, while heat treatment within specific temperature ranges helps maintain stability.
To ensure consistent performance, the composition of FeNi36 is carefully controlled, particularly in terms of carbon and manganese content. While it exhibits good corrosion resistance in dry air at room temperature, exposure to humid or aggressive environments may lead to oxidation or rust formation. FeNi36 supports various welding techniques, including TIG welding (Tungsten Inert Gas), metal arc welding, plasma arc welding, argon arc welding, and manual arc welding. For optimal results, pulse arc welding is recommended.
